Record a Demo or EP for FREE with a professional producer

Gold Coast City Council is pleased to announce the FREE A-Venue 2010 Demo
and EP Production Program, in partnership with Serotonin Productions.

Demo Production Program
We are offering five emerging local bands/solo artists an introduction to popular music production by
working with a professional producer to record a two track Demo CD, of
which you will receive 45 copies
Eligibilty
To qualify for the Demo opportunity:
-all solo artists, or 50% of band members, must be residents of the Gold Coast
-all solo artists, or 50% of band members, must be 30 years or under
-must not already have a released CD (bar-coded and distributed)
-must have at least two original songs – no covers
-must be available on the key dates

EP Production Program
We are offering two local bands/solo artists the opportunity the record a four
track radio quality EP, of which you will receive 95 printed copies and
online distribution (100% owned by the artist and non-exclusive). The
two bands /solo artists selected for the full production EPs will also
be undertaking the management advice and planning of the release of this
recording with Guy Cooper, Serotonin Productions and Human Records.
Eligibility
To qualify for the EP opportunity:
-all solo artists, or 50% of band members, must be residents of the Gold Coast
-all solo artists, or 50% of band members, must be 30 years or under
-must have a previously recorded and printed product or demo (single, EP or album)
-must have been together and performing live for at least one year as the act submitted
to this program
-must have at least six original unrecorded and unreleased songs
-must be available on the key dates
-participate in the management, planning and advice sessions and be willing to work
with Guy Cooper, Serotonin Productions and Human Records on the release
of the EP (you will retain full rights and all royalties and control for
the EP)
-must have a solid line-up and well maintained instruments
