Beatronica are the brainchild of drummer Ed Duquemin (Gondwanaland) aka de Beat who drums and mc’s the Show and has received critical acclaim throughout a stellar career, notably an ARIA win and recently a critically acclaimed world music CD “Xenophon” ”understated brilliance 4stars”– Rolling Stone, “this is an excellent album”– ABC Radio He has a fiery ambition for Beatronica, and after extensive work in the UK now has an utterly fresh brand of euro club rock trance with some outstanding Australian talent, like DJ Bass on you guessed it bass and MP Free on guitar.
The group formed in November 2009, and have developed a strong live show which draws from multiple musical cultures, genres with video graphics. Several residency’s and 4ZZZ chart success has resulted in a dedicated and varied fanbase around Brisbane where the band has gigged extensively. Beatronica’s unique combination of melodic trip-hop and pop rock is a definite crowd pleaser, and fans of The Velvet Underground, Pink Floyd, and Prodigy are guaranteed to excite in the group’s sonic meltingpot.. Hey I got your message about a synth/piano player sorry its taken so long to reply i haven't had internet. I am definitely interested. I just have to warn you I am not the best when it comes to playing by ear but I am getting better however I'm classically trained and pick things up very fast =)
