Hobo Obituaries by hoboobituaries
Fearless and original music-makers Hobo Obituaries have plenty to offer the world. With imagination, creativity and energy to burn the Australian-based brother duo, Andy & Jhonny Hobo are on a mission to bring the universe something unique using their powers of unrefined creation as they explore the outer orbits of the electro-rock realms.
Self-proclaimed ‘visual artists that make music’ their super-fun digital low-brow sounds are both raw and entertaining smacking of substance and a perverse style all their own.
The Hobo fierce D.I.Y ethos has seen the release of a large body of work over their seven-year existence via self-created and self-run label Hobo Parade Records. Hobo’s also design and screen-print their own line of limited edition clothing and merchandise.
The Toowoomba-born Gold Coast-residents are musical satirists. Hobo’s are living, breathing pop art. Breaking musical rules and casting off passé and limiting thinking with a punk rock smugness, the two-man song writing team are irreverent and unapologetic concerning matters of the [he]art.  Presently inspired by space and the cosmos, listening to Hobo’s is an adventure for the explorer in us all.
Guitar/vocals and synth mashed with programmed beats and samples taken from random television programming make for laugh-out-loud pandemonium inducing sets. Synth-exercise bicycles, chicken men laying eggs, four-legged friends, mid-song haircuts—Hobo shows are jam packed with layers of goodness.
As freelance artists for hire—their lives dedicated to the arts and music—Andy a tattoo artist by day and Jhonny an illustrator / graphic artist, producer and mash-up DJ maven, his fingers in many musical pies: Super Awesome Villains Forever, Smitten Kitten, Ultra Ego, Sunshine Twins, Dude Eggs (also featuring Andy) and Stalking Butlers —Hobo Obituaries are without doubt a band marked for cult-status. The last 12 months has seen the band play many memorable shows (including supporting Baltimore band The Death Set and playing live on 4ZzZ Radio), release a DVD, re-release their debut album, produce a very popular mash-up mix, contribute to a sneaker art show, and appear on Channel 9 News. The siblings’ current projects include a series of new EPs, live DJ set, song remixes for international and Australian acts and a collaborative EP with US band Shmoe—a Hobo’s life is never dull. Act like you know and become part of the experience: www.hoboobituaries.com.

They have played at many venues through-out Queensland, including Ric's Bar, Gold Coast City Art Gallery, the Chophouse, Elsewhere Bar, Fisherman's
Wharf, the Trocaderro, the Step Inn, Nomads' Bike Club, Brannigan's
Tavern, Hard Rock Cafe, The Cavern, The Tatts Hotel Lismore, The Del Plaza, X & Y Bar, Surfers Paradise Beer Garden, and Miami Shark Bar.
