Fronted by seductive songstress Brodie-Ann Wright, electro rockers Felinedown embody the essence of Garbage, the energy of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, the intensity of Nine Inch Nails, and the darkness of Massive Attack.
A strong live reputation has scored the band stellar reviews and coveted supports for The Birthday Massacre (Canada) and Deathstars (Sweden).
Having graced stages all over the country as a burlesque performer and actress, Brodie-Ann augments every live performance with striking costumes, props, and loads of extroverted antics. Guitarist Glen Gattenhof dresses to kill and delivers hook after hook, while the rhythm section of Ash Town and Zac Gould expertly blend the bluntness of industrial rock, the moodiness of trip-hop and the rhythmic urgency of electronica. New recruit Beau Badinski, on keys and samples, adds intensity and warmth that perfectly rounds out the Felinedown sound.
Felinedown’s self-titled debut EP was within the 4ZzZ Top 10 albums for 4 weeks peaking at #4 and was #1 on Australian Internet Radio for 3 weeks.
Their song ‘Unrequited’ was in the Top 10 songs shortlisted for the 2009 QSong competition under the rock category. The band recently delighted their fans with a digital re-release of their debut EP, including new single ‘Push’ and a remix of track ‘Sweet’ by Dan Sutherland of MM9 (NSW). This collaboration also saw Felinedown receive their first National Airplay on JJJ.
After a stack of dates around southeast Queensland late 2009 Felinedown will be heading interstate early 2010 as response to their rapidly expanding fan base. Still riding high on the positive response to their debut, and with national airplay on Triple J in Nov ‘09 the band has begun writing their next release with an anticipated release in July 2010.
