- Del Plaza Hotel is on the corner of Scarborough & Nind Streets at Southport. There is a cab rank at the door and a bus stop 20mtrs away going into Surfers or to Helensvale Train Station. Doors open at 8pm for the bands upstairs or
while you are waiting we have Southies Bar & Grill, Gaming Room and Public Bar open from 10am til 12 midnight (restaurant lunch 11.30-2.30 & dinner 6.30 til 8.30pm)

I am not 100% sure what your policies on bands are (i.e. ages, previous experience, etc), but there is one young, talented band I am trying to find gigs for. They are all 13 years of age, but they play a style and structure of music well beyond their years, are improving by the day and have an infectious enthusiasm and love for music.
They are influenced by bands such as Coldplay, John Mayer, Fat Freddy's Drop, and many more. A link to their relatively new MySpace page can be found at http://www.myspace.com/521385812 - Also, if you would like references from previous venues, other musicians, etc. I can provide them too.
I was wondering if you guys knew of any possible gigs / venues, etc, or if they are a little too young or inexperienced for the GC scene. If you know of any places I might be able to contact about getting these boys a gig in the area, as they are really passionate and keen about what they do, and it's a joy to watch and listen to them. Also, if you were ever keen at any stage, to play some gigs with these boys, that'd be much appreciated, as they are really looking for a sort of big-brother band to help them get started and get some gigs.
