and we want to play shows, we've played a couple of shows at the CWA hall, shed five, nerang community hall etc,

That's cool... Have you got any demos on myspace or anything to listen too? What style you guys play?
I May have some other stuff coming up in Feb in Brisbane which we will need support bands for.
Also, there is "Tempo" in the Valley (Brisbane) they are an awesome starting point for original bands. On Tuesday nights they give new AND established original bands a 45 minute spot to play. They got a FAT PA, big stage, nice venue and a Tavern audience of about 100 people.
We still play there sometimes coz it's a great feel and it can lead to a paid weekend gig.
As long as you guys are half decent and not a metal band you'll get a spot.
