Attended Musicians Institute in California in 1988-89.
During this intensive year I augmented my experience in many styles and performance situations while allowing me to specialise in improvisation.
Achieved the highest certificate awarded by Musicians Institute.
In 1993 I studied composing for Film and Television through Griffith University.
Completed a Bachelor of Popular Music degree through the Queensland Conservatorium of Music in 2001 and received an Award for Academic Excellence The history and function of popular music within society and coding techniques and practices used by popular musicians/composers in popular music production are of particular interest.
Since 1994 I have been a freelance guitarist working with and supporting many well known Australian and international artists including Petula Clark, The Platters, Graham Connors, Grace Knight, Anthony Warlow, Tina Arena, Rick Price, Julie Anthony, The Ten Tenors, Geoff Harvey, Venetta Fields, Doug Parkinson, Tommy Emmanuel, Don Burrows and James Morrison.
I have been a featured artist at ‘Jazz in the Basement’ at Gold Coast Arts Centre on a number of occasions.
Toured to China and Malaysia and often play solo guitar in a variety of venues including Hope Links Resort and Mudgee bah Cafe.
The 2011 Brisbane season of the hit musical ‘WICKED’ saw me take on the task of guitars, mandolin and banjo. In December 2011 rehearsals and performances for the Brisbane season of ‘Mary Poppins’ began with 'Annie’ starting a week later. I have been pit guitarist in a number of musicals including the locally produced ‘Pyjamas in Paradise’, ‘Fame’, ‘Les Miserables’ and ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’.
I have worked with the Queensland Symphony and Queensland Philharmonic orchestras and performed with members of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra.
I was ‘first call’ guitarist for the Lord Mayors Christmas Carols TV special for a number of years.
Currently employed as Tutor of Guitar at All Saints Anglican School where I have been working for over 20 years.
