Looking for gigs for a talented young band?
Hey guys, I'm no longer in a band, used to be in a post-hardcore band around the Byron Bay Scene. There is a talented group of youngsters, starting out (all just 13 years of age) who I am helping to get started. They have several covers, are still quite raw, but have alot of talent and determination.

That is their MySpace page, it has several of their tracks psoted up. They have already written 7 original songs (remembering they were 12 and 13 when writing most of them) and I have been encouraging them to tie in strong biographical meanings to these tracks.
They are still in early stages and very young, but I am hoping for big things from them further down the track.
As I've been out of the Gold Coast scene of things for a while now, I'm not particularly familiar with the venues, acceptable genres, etc etc. around here now.
If anyone knows of anything at all that would help these kids, i.e. advice, possible gigs / venues, brother-bands, etc. that would be fantastic if you could contact me either directly here, in my inbox, or to my email (Adam_Meads@hotmail.com).
They are lovely kids, all really willing to learn, unique sounding, and hopefully have a decent future ahead of them!! Any advice, possible gigs, etc would be fantastic, and if not thanks for listening anyways :D

Hi Adam, I have just set up a relaxed unpretentious recording studio ( Speakin' Out Productions) and am looking for some new talent to record. I am offering some FREE recording time for interested people whilst I fine tune my equipment. You can hear some of my recordings (of myself) on my home page. Would your young band be interested in doing a Demo that they could use for promotional purposes etc. I am at Coombabah (northern end of Gold Coast, about 10 minutes from Southport). Hey Greg. I will speak to the boys when I get the chance, probably in the next day or so and see what they are thinking.
I'd like to thankyou for this opportunity for them too, they are constantly improving and really enjoying what they do, and I'm fairly confident they will be over the moon with the offer! Pat asked me yesterday if I knew of any proper recording places, and I told him only around our area (we're from near Byron Bay) and they were often quite hard to arrange bookings with, from experience.

I'm loving their sound. they're going to go on to big things for sure.
Most of the places we perform are over 18 but we've just started to get our foot in the door of the festival circuit which are usually open ages.
Get stuck in to applying for every little (local) and every big festival you can find.
Good luck and I'll keep my eyes and ears open.

Thanks heaps guys, yeah just got them a gig as a support for The Beautiful Girls in Bangalow. So excited for them, huge opportunity.
Just gotta keep them focused on their music, and to keep trying new things and learning. The oldest member turns 14 in December, so still very young.
Thanks a bunch for the reply, really appreciate it! I showed their your music on MySpace a while ago, when I saw you guys on here (winning that band comp, congrats!) and they were blown away.
