Hi all,
I am thinking of getting a few local original bands together to organise a show in March or April.
If a few of us bands got together to put on a kick ass show, got some support from a good local venue and also assistance from local media, we could create a good platform for local bands to showcase them selves. Raise the profile of local original music.
Any bands, or industry people interested in getting on board?
If it works well, might be a good thing to do on an ongoing basis.

If you're a hard rock band looking to gig on the Gold Coast, you're up shit creek! you've got Shed 5, which is really more of a metal scene, Shark Bar at Miami and that IF you can get on the bill (good luck) and the Hard Rock Cafe (As if)!
I scored a gig at the Hinterland and played there last week, but that's it. Even though we, as a band, are going great and getting awesome references from Venue Management etc, it seems there is just apathy out there for the Gold Coast music scene in terms of venues wanting to support local emerging artists.
At least that's been my experience to date.
Just got to keep pushing the shit up the hill I guess. If you have a show that you need filled, let me know. I'm keen, LOL.
Cheers

You just got to keep battling.
My advise to you is get some gigs in Brisbane. At least then the band can get playing at least. Gigs in Brisbane are easy to get.
