The Classic Aussie Rock Show featuring DAVE EVANS
Co-founder and original singer of AC/DC
Returns to Australia for a National Tour with the Classic Aussie Rock Show
Saturday 13 June 2009
Time: 8.30pm
Tickets: $25
When Dave Evans formed his very first band in the sleepy Queensland town of Charters Towers at the tender age of 17, little did he know that this was going to lead to becoming an Aussie Rock master reaching audiences across the globe today.
Answering an ad in the Sydney Morning Herald for a singer for a then unnamed band, Dave met up with Malcolm & Angus Young, Colin Burgess and Larry Van Kredt.
This band went on to become one of Australia’s legendary acts and helped form the music we know today as classic ROCK! The band was AC/DC!
Evans went on to become an independent artist in his own right – clearly proud of being part of music history and a master of music representing yesterdays aggressive and powerful rock to today’s audiences in a genre that has somehow lost its way amongst the blend of sounds of today’s musicians trying to replicate early Australian classic rock.
Over the years, Evans has been subject to rumors and innuendoes as to how and why he left the band.
Evans is proud of his history and time with AC/DC, resulting in many guest appearances at events such as the Bon Scott memorial concert and fundraisers, AC/DC conventions across the globe and more recently, championing for plaques to be placed at the sites in Sydney where the band started whilst in Australia recently for the Adelaide International Guitar Festival and the Long Live Live Music Show in Bendigo.
Although Evans shares his time between Texas and Melbourne he is working with his Texas based outfit the BADASSES, along with engaging a management team to take his highly acclaimed album SINNER to venues across the world. Dave will be bringing his Texan guitarist and badass hard rock fiddle player (yes you heard right!) on this tour.
Dave Evans and the Classic Aussie Rock Show is a show not to be missed!
Make sure you come and say giday!
