Battle Of the Bands

Sorry to hear about what happened, sounds like an ordeal. I am a working musician who founded his own agency 3 years ago and I am running my first battle of the bands in March-April. I have tried to set it up from a musicians perspective. There is 5 heats of 4 bands per heat - total 20 bands. Each heat winner goes straight into the grand final, no semis. There is 5 heat winners and one judges choice from all the rounds - total 6 gf acts. The prize is winner takes all $2000 cash. There is no other add ons, just cash. So 1 x 40 min heat set, then if successful, 1 x 40 min gf set. Total 2 x 40 min sets, first place 2k. All the back line has been supplied by Billy Hydes, so plug and play. Production also supplied. The judges are independant and no act that I book is allowed to play in the comp. Furthermore it is open to covers and original acts. I am not supplying the 2k its been suplied by the venue you are playing at. I am trying to gain some exposure for gc bands in a tough market with a prize that will hopefully fund some of their future needs. Hi everyone. Unfortunately we are postponing the battle of the bands for at least another week as the Hotel has just been renovated and we are awaiting on gc council to sign off on the renno's. Apologies to all but all that have registered, I will contact you individually and advise of prospective new dates.
