Bass player required for alternative rock/metal band
We are looking for a bass player to join us in the Gold Coast area. Some of our influences are The Butterfly Effect, COG, Karnivool, Deftones, Sevendust, Melodyssey, Dream Theater.
Our style is a sort of progressive metal: lots of variation in song structure, some use of odd time signatures, but not highly technical. Not really blast beat brutal, more so melodic lines mixed with a bit of crunch (I hate trying to define music...). The guitarist also plays a lot in C/C# tuning I believe, and my style of drumming is kind of Abe Cunningham from Deftones influenced.
The guitarist is 25 and has been playing for about 8 years I think, and I'm the drummer, 26, and have been playing for about 9 years. We are looking for a bassist on the same wavelength just wanting to create some great f**king music!
We rehearse once or twice a week in Surfers Paradise, currently working on a few originals. Also, sometimes we record at Griffith Uni conservatorium as one of studies full time there.
If you think you might be interested drop us a line, we are both pretty chilled, bring beers. Also, we have one recorded original to give you if you wanna hear what sort of music we are creating.
