Anyone after a Sound Engineer?

Hey boys and girls looking for any band or act looking to take their performance further an employ a sound engineer. Currently do sound for "Nite Star" -> http://www.nitestarband.com/fr_home.cfm (An active retro rock band) using their own system. I am looking to partner up with some Gold Coast acts and can run your gear or I can provide a PA for 200+ people.

hey there, i was just wondering if you could help me out with something, im interested in studying sound engineering, can you tell me where you went to study, what you learn/whats included in the syllabus and if you can score jobs working with live sound production for shows.
I have a few mates in bands that might be looking for a sound engineer so i'll ask around for you.

Hey there El!

Personally I think I have learnt just as much from practical work and friends then I have from lectures and teachers. I would suggest however perhaps looking into a "Certificate III in Live Theater and Events" @ TAFE. I found it to be a really good starting point and will help you understand the basics. I think they re-worked the course after I left but other friends have found it very useful. Some downsides to this course is that it also has modules relating to lighting and theater that may not be of interest to you (but still pretty fun) and that it doesn't go into great depth.

Currently studying my Bachelor of Popular Music @ Griffith which has been really enjoyable but sound engineering is quite a small part of the course. Hope this helped El, any artists you find requiring a PA system / sound engineer let me know!
