Pairing sublime harmonies and contrasting yet complimentary vocals with superb pop song writing, The Firetree are pushing the limits of Australia’s multi instrumentalists culture, creating an undeniably unique indie folk sound, showcased on their latest release ‘The Morning EP’ (2nd March 2012, Independent/MGM).

Evoking a sense of bohemian charm and casual storytelling, The Firetree’s live show sees the duo perform with acoustic and electric guitars, mandolin, loops, percussion and foot drums to create lush, full soundscapes that at times rivals some 5 piece bands.

The past 18 months have seen the pair tour extensively across Australia and internationally to Canada as a rapidly growing audience latch onto their addictive tunes and vibrant live shows. 2012 has already seen the modern folk duo perform a successful 30 date national headline tour of Australia and with plans for their first European tour for July/August 2012, The Firetree show no signs of slowing down.

A strong DIY attitude has proven their resourcefulness and talent, with the pair engineering, editing and producing their recordings. Their latest single ‘Back And Forth’ is receiving “lots of love” on national digital radio Triple J Unearthed while ‘The Morning EP’ has been garnering generous airplay on community radio throughout Australia.

The Firetree’s debut single ‘Sun And Moon’ reached number #1 for three weeks on the national AMRAP AirIt Charts. Their sound is also being noticed in the US, placing 2nd in the Best of Pop charts for consistent results on popular US indie music site and MTV partner ourstage.com for 26 weeks in 2011.
