REICHELT: Innovative, emotionally charged and just the right side of eccentric. Alternative Pop-Folk music and Australian musician-producer-engineer Luke Reichelt is the best-kept secret in the Gold Coast independent music community. With both a live and recording career spanning over a decade, his working credits and collaborations are impressive featuring members of Wolfmother, Operator Please, Jane VS World and more. With the new album in the works slated to drop in 2011 Reichelt looks set to be anything but ignored for his quirky music. He has received critical acclaim in the international arena winning an L.A Music Award for Best Power Pop Single as well as receiving an honorable mention in the Billboard International Songwriting Competition and a record deal in Australia and Japan. Reichelt brings a D.I.Y spirit and emotional vulnerability to a music landscape that seems currently on a trajectory of self-obsessed indulgence, materialism and guarded expression. Reichelt evades all the musical tragedies or clichés.

LEYTE: Man and woman, young and decrepit, coastal and city. Leyte is a musical group that has risen out of diversity. With a taste for old classics and a longing for originality, Leyte combines anthological Sweetheart Folk with a raw rock feel, respecting the classics but crafting with their own messy hands. The seven members that make up Leyte created the project on the basis of having a band that could be a fun and light-hearted affair, almost a break or holiday from they’re primary bands. Featuring musicians from both the Gold Coast and Brisbane music scene’s the collaboration comes through as a vibrant ‘Mamas and Papas’ folk sound with a ‘Belle and Sebastian’ Indie rock feel.

LOUSTAR: LouStar is a saucy experiment in indie electronica, that has had a magnetic like effect over crowds for the last 10 years. And over that time her silky voice and dirty chick hop has evolved from late night jazz bars to packed out festival stages. It’s raw sexual emotion oozing over an mpc, fused with sizzling vocals as her fingers delicately touch her roland rc-50 in all the right places. She’s worked with an awesome who’s who of the music industry including Tijuana Cartel, Mark Duckworth (The Greys, Bleeding Knees Club, Casey Barnes), Superginger and Stalkz. She once tried to organize a collaboration with famed U.S. super producer RJD2, but was unfortunately told she would be taken to court if she persisted. But that didn’t get her down. She’s raunchy, focused, and on an unstoppable accent, stay tuned... things are just getting started.
