Gold Coast Marching Band

Gold Coast Marching Band has the goal to provide a 3000 piece Marching Band for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Opening & Closing Ceremonies.

This will consist of 20 Drumlines each with 50 drummers, and 20 Stage Bands each with 100 players. 1000 Woodwind/Strings, 1000 Brass & 1000 Drums, so we are continually looking for new members.

The Gold Coast Marching Band will consider musicians of any level from raw beginners to experienced musicians.  The Talent for the Coast program supports the concept that “music is for everyone” and we will provide an opportunity for a player of any ability. 

The Talent for the Coast programs have a 4 part progression from junior level through to C, B and A levels, which allows a beginner to perform alongside the more experienced musician after week 5 of joining the Gold Coast Marching Band.  The more experienced player has the opportunity to perform complex pieces during stationary displays, and will be provided with the training necessary to be part of the large scale Marching Band
