Currumbin RSL’s Dawn Service is again shaping up to be a major community event. Free Park and Ride services available running continual services from 3.30am. Return buses depart at the completion of the Dawn Service. This year Currumbin RSL is giving Anzac Day back to our returned service men and women. We will not hold our usual out door event between 1pm and 5pm but the club will resume normal trading from 6pm.
What is ANZAC Day?
ANZAC Day – 25 April – is probably Australia's most important national occasion. It marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War. ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. The soldiers in those forces quickly became known as ANZACs, and the pride they soon took in that name endures to this day.
